What is a ceramic coating?

Ceramic Coatings are liquid polymer solutions that are applied to a car’s exterior, chemically bonding to the paint to create an additional layer of protection. Ceramic coating can protect the paint from the most common forms of damage including scratches, swirl marks, UV rays and chemical etching (from bird droppings, tree sap, water marks etc.).

Ceramic coatings are the strongest and longest lasting type of protection for your cars paint. Other options for comparison are:

• Wax - Weeks

• Spray Coatings - Months

• Ceramic Coatings - Many Years

While both wax and ceramic coat protects the paint, wax is worn away fairly easily by the elements and needs to be re-applied very regularly. On the other hand, ceramic coating’s chemical make-up does not break down under normal conditions like wax – providing longer and stronger paint protection even in the extreme Australian climate.

What do they protect against specifically?

• Acid and Base Chemicals - (PH resistant’s increases with better products)

• Water Stains - Water stains can still be a problem if left untreated

• Bugs - Can be chemically removed without rubbing.

• Bird Bombs - Rinses right off

• UV Damage - Prevents air from touching the paint and rejects some UV

• Minor Abrasions - The hard layer can resist light swirls from cleaning

What can’t Ceramic Coatings do?

Ceramic coatings do have limits. They are amazing at repelling chemicals, dirt, water and oils. But they can’t stop heavy impacts like rocks and shopping trolleys. The layer while being hard, is very thin and these kind of impacts are not what this protection was made to prevent. For heavier damage protection you need Paint Film Protection, called PPF for short. The film is thick and can absorb minor to moderate impacts such as stones and medium scuffs.

What guarantees are provided by Car Pro and The Googong Detailer?

Car Pro guarantees their product for the claimed period under normal use. To get the most out of their coatings they do require some basic care. This is just regular washing using compatible wash products which I sell.

As a Certified Installer I will also ensure that the application is lasting when doing follow-up maintenance washes for you. These maintenance details can be booked in and are discounted. We inspect and renew any spots that might require it and provide a progress report.

I am a professional hand wash detailer. While there are faster ways to wash a vehicle, when you bring it to me you know I will only use safe wash methods and safe chemicals. This ensures that no scratches are added to the car through the process of detailing your vehicle. While this sounds like it would be reserved for only the best vehicles, I treat all vehicles this way.
